Common Problems With Dishwashers

Dishwasher is an important appliance in our house and with a good model; we don’t need to worry about having stacks of dirty dishes in our kitchen. Without a good dishwasher, your daily chose can become a real pain as you struggle to keep with cleaning dirty dishes. Families with more than a few members know that dishwashers are essential in their daily activities; however, failures can happen to these dishwashers. First of all, clogging can affect any dishwasher and this happens when some water remains inside the dishwashers, and you can’t drain it off. Aluminum foils, small bones and various small pieces could cause the drain to become clogged. This could happen if you don’t habitually clear any item from your dish.

In this situation, you need to empty the dishwasher and clean the filter, so the drain can be fully unclogged. In some cases, dishes may remain dirty and when it happens, you need to re-wash the dishes manually; which can be quite infuriating. The problem could be caused by clogged sprinkler, nozzle or hose. When cleaning hose or nozzle, you need to unplug the dishwasher from the wall socket and empty all the water. Read the instruction manuals on how to clean all the holes. However, it is possible that everything appears to be perfectly clean with the dishwasher and the dishes are still dirty. In this situation, you may need to check the water heater. The water needs to be hot enough so it will be able dissolve the fat and oil.

Glass may also remain stained when you remove them from the dishwashers. This can be disappointing if you expect that these glasses will be gleaming and shiny after washed. If you find that these glasses are no longer as shiny, then there’s a good probability that your dishwashers are no longer functioning properly. The problem could be caused by the water used for the washing process. You may confirm that the problem is caused by hard water, if the glass becomes shiny after you put it inside a vinegar solution for 10 minutes. If the problem is caused by hard water, you will need to use extra amount of dish washing detergent. However, using too much detergent or water that’s too hot may also cause glasses to lose their shine.

Door leakage could also happen to your dishwasher and this may result in plenty of headaches. If you find that the dishwasher is leaking, you should check whether a dish is placed inappropriately, which prevents the door from being locked completely. If you have placed the dishes properly, them there’s a possibility that the door doesn’t fit completely. There’s a possibility that the door starts to become loose, so the problem can be fixed by screwing the bolt slightly so it will become a tight fit again. The problem may also happen with the rubber or the seal, which may need to be replaced if leakage happens all the time.
